DAY FOURTEEN

THE TITLE OF THIS CALENDAR
or
WHY ON EARTH IS IT CALLED "REELING AND WRITHING?"

The title of this calendar is a pun courtesy of Lewis Carroll himself, who, in his Alice novels, made it clear that Wonderlanders study "reeling and writhing", instead of "reading and writing", at school.
While also being a reference to my frequently injured, poisoned, or drugged literary characters. And to my passion for literature.
For a while, I was tempted to change the name of this very blog into Reeling and Writhing, but its present name is already set in stone and it's too late to change it. Much like a certain Japanese videogame about a vicious damselnapping gorilla was supposed to be called Monkey Kong, but the title in the first release was misspelled as Donkey Kong, even though it's obvious that he is not an Equus africanus asinus. So, alea iacta est.
And thus, I left the title on a shelf, planning to use it someday for a project.
And then, when I came up with the idea of a virtual advent calendar, the name was free and fit for using it for the title of said calendar. Voilà!
