THE VALEMON FILM

A sensual picture of a false bride's dominance and dynamics (she acts and he is), reminds me somewhat of Cersei Lannister or Catherine the Great. Lord Byron has described, in his poetry, more of those lovely heterosexual relationships in which the lady has the upper hand.

And she lives in this foreboding eyrie of a keep...

And here's when he drinks the drug...

Out like a light...

Finally, she is left brokenhearted and all alone.

An awesome Swedish-Norwegian coproduction, made in 1991. In this one, the hero and false bride are both raven-haired, while the heroine is strawberry blond. This is the wedding scene. The potion that Valemon is tricked to drink will unleash his dark side, turning him completely evil. Actually, Valemon was cursed for rejecting the Sorceress when she proposed to him... because the Sorceress is Valemon's dark side, separated from his body at birth (think Aguri and Regina), and thus she seeks to corrupt him completely, for them to share the same power and alignment.
Valemon: Tobias Hoesl
Sorceress: Anna-Lotta Larsson
Anna-Lotta Larsson is actually from Karlstadt, in Värmland (what a coincidence for Ringstetten lovers!). Tobias Hoesl is from Munich, Bavaria... born to a Southern German father and a Swedish mother (another interesting coincidence!).
