PUTTING THE "DIRE" IN DIREWOLF

Kirakira Precure à la Mode
Episode 33  - My Own Review
PUTTING THE "DIRE" IN DIREWOLF

Pikalio is still bedridden... still breathing, but he has not awakened yet.

BILBERRY (sounding like a drill sergeant): GIVE ME FORTY MORE!!
The Precures are startled to say the least.

BILBERRY: Why do I have to wear this uniform?

CIEL: La raison pourquoi? No work, no cake.

AOI: Shouldn't it be "no pain, no gain?"

Allons-y!

BILBERRY: LET'S LA COOKING!!!

CIEL: No pain, no gain.

Bilberry is reminded of her wartime past...

BILBERRY (in shock): Is it Diaval??!!

AOI: He's vanished! Into thin air!!

After Diaval has gone, the sweets are no longer dark, but people's anger remains.

Not even Lumière could seal up Noir for good...
(which makes me wonder... all these Precure archvillains are not slain, but left dormant, at the end of the grand finale of their respective continuity -reflecting that negativity will never fade away-)...

AOI: But then there are still all these other shops selling sweets.

This seems like a missed opportunity to have Yukari and Akira share an umbrella!
Still, the interactions between our OTP are worth gold as always <3

CIEL: Pikalio?

PIKALIO (sleeptalking): Believe in the power of sweets, -pika...

MY OWN HUMBLE OPINION:
A new cadre is here! A werewolf called Diaval, whose humanoid form is a teen like Bilberry, and also physically resembles her. Which leads to a theory of mine: that there will soon be a confrontation of twins vs. twins, Bilberry and Diaval as evil counterparts to Ciel/Kirarin and Giulio/Pikalio.
This boy is even more powerful than Elysio, turning light kirakiraru into dark kirakiraru within various victims' hearts and making them outright evil at one fell swoop.
Outside, people are at each other’s throats. The cause of this is none other than Diaval in direwolf form. Bilberry reveals that his presence is enough to darken kirakiraru, and it works its way into people’s hearts which results in arguments and such.
This leads to the Precures falling into depression over their sweets bringing such negative emotions to people. Plus, he's a werewolf! With a satanic/demonic name! What more can we ask for in matter of villains (he makes even Glaive and Elysio look like Colin and Justin!)?
At least he seems to have a reason, saying that sweets are calorie bombs. I only eat sweets on weekends and holidays myself.
As for another reason... Diaval needs dark kirakiraru for life support (in stark contrast to his "twin"? who requires it as a proof of "selfless love" between herself and her guardian). So he's terminally ill. The idea of vampires (in general, whether they require actual blood or kirakiraru [or any other life energy] to survive) on life support is certainly an exciting one, because of the moral shades of grey that it entails, and that is why I adore it so much.
PS. Yesterday being Akira Kenjo's eighteenth birthday, I definitely will be continuing that Snow Queen AU! In next chapter, Akira will dance in a ballroom, get drunk, don both the King of Hearts and the Cure Chocolat ensembles, and meet two dead ringers for Yukari! <3 So stay tuned!

IN NEXT EPISODE (34):

Yukari's turned non-human and can only say meow!
We so far do not have a clue of reason why or how!

Our kitty confronts Kirarin, and there's planaria flying...
Will our perfectionist grow more, as this preview's implying?
