DIE ABENTEUER VON MAX UND MOLLY OPENING - IN ENGLISH

One of my favourite German animated shows as a child and still in the present, mainly for starring a savvy guy and an energetic girl (well, a savvy male penguin and an energetic jill 'roo) alongside a heterogeneous supporting cast of knubbels (humanoids of brightly-coloured hair and skin), like Macnumber, Humpelix, Letterina, Miss Ellie, or Miss Tone:

DIE ABENTEUER VON MAX UND MOLLY, by Winfried Debertin. Released for the first time in autumn-winter 1995 on Das Erste (the first channel of German state TV), this thirteen-episode series is based upon secondary characters in the puppet show Hallo Spencer (the German counterpart of the Muppets), which makes it a spin-off series.
In Germany, it was released on VHS in the nineties, but has never been released on DVD due to lack of popularity. It still airs in said country, having last time been aired on Junior TV on 09:40 during the summer of last year, 2014.
I viewed the Catalan dub of this series, Les aventures d'en Max i la Molly, on Super3 (the children's programming block of Catalan regional TV) as a weekday afternoon cartoon, sometime in the late nineties.
Now more for the show itself!
The cast is minimalistic (Max, Molly, and the seven Knubbels make nine) and the setting is also secluded, huis clos (they rarely leave the Knubbels Islands), making this series the Othello of German animation (minus the bloodshed and the intrigue). The plots of the episodes hooked me. There's no myth arc in this series, the episodes being standalones in general, and the closest thing to an overarching myth arc there can be is the mystery of the Bananians and their oblong yellow starship (more on that below).

In addition, there were a banana-shaped starship out of the blue, the Bananobile (not kidding), which the leading duo used for transportation (and whose mystery was the loose myth arc of the series), and a half-nonsensical theme song that was a total earworm (not kidding either). One that I knew by heart as a child (or, at least, the Catalan translation of it). The original song was in German, so here is my English translation:
