APRIL NASOBEMES... I MEAN FOOLS!
Das Nasobem ist Fiktion!!! Das was nur ein Aprilscherz!!! Zum Lesen gibt es dieses
Gedicht von Christian Morgenstern
Auf seinen Nasen schreitet
einher das Nasobēm,
von seinem Kind begleitet.
Es steht noch nicht im Brehm.
Und auch im Brockhaus nicht.
Es trat aus meiner Leier
zum ersten Mal ans Licht.
Auf seinen Nasen schreitet
von seinem Kind begleitet,
einher das Nasobēm.
The Nasobeme is a fictional species... April Fools!!! It first appeared in the Germanophone poem above by Christian Morgenstern. Here is a translation into English:
The Nasobeme.
Translation by G.G. Simpson:
Behold the prideful walk-on-nose,
The nasobeme with nasal toes;
Behold also his handsome pup.
'Tis true you cannot look him up;
He figures not in Meyer or Brehm;
No reference work contains his name.
In this my song he makes his bow
To all of you, and that is how
At last you can, complete with pup
(As I have mentioned farther up),
Behold the prideful walk-on-nose,
The nasobeme with nasal toes.

APRIL FOOLS!!
Did you really think that I was going to purchase a catamaran with my limited means??? And furthermore baptise her in Moët et Chandon??? Oh really really??? Dead Sirius Black???
Well, in that case you are:
APRIL FOOLS!!!
The April Fool, who appears in many of these engravings, serves as chief jester and master of ceremonies for the feast. He seats the distant solstices together at the table:
The twenty-first day of June, I remember,
He sat next the twenty-first day of December;
The former the latter contemptuously eyed,
Like a maypole and marrowbone placed side by side.
Anyway, I'm laughing merrily at all of you, dear readers of all stages and every gender, who fell for the trick yesterday...
The chap in jester's guise in the middle is not me buying a catamaran, right?
