 CANTRIPS & CONTRAPTIONS

will be the theme of this year's blog-advent calendar, in which I will introduce you to the world of Changeling and try to sort various characters of my favourites into kinds of kithane (if European or Anglo-Saxon) or hsien ie eastern yokai (if Asian). We'll also try out various cantrips - the kind of magic changelings use. And apply them to different characters and scenarios - a campaign for Neustria (magical France) in the steampunk 19th century with characters from those novels I love (PotO, CoMC, Les Mis) is most surely to be the red string that ties it together. Headcanons will be included, as well as what ifs (the most common: what if Benedetto/Andrea Cavalcanti was adopted and raised with Cosette by Valjean?).

The use of cantrips and contraptions does not low out the use of sword-canes, strychnine, Morse, Bowie knives, wads of francs, dapper suits, corsets, libretti, or any other weapons/devices of choice of the characters. The setting will mostly be the Royal Domain (Île de France), although excursions to the Sapphire Seas (the Midi) and Bayeaux (the North) will not be unheard of. Mostly because so many characters are Paris-based southerners...

Most of the older adults will be mortals (ie muggles), except Valjean and maybe Javert - Valjean being an actual troll, and Javert? Nous verrons!

WINTER IS COMING - REVOLUTION AS WELL
