There is nothing that can shatter the suspense of a fiction in translation as much as a translated title that is, in itself, a spoiler for a major plot point, if not the major plot point, in the story you are reading or watching. Here are some of the most notorious cases that I have been able to find:
The Shawshank Redemption (suomi): Rita Hayworth - avain pakoon (the second half of the title means Key to an Escape!)
Rosemary's Baby (español castellano): La semilla del diablo
Vertigo (italiano): La donna che visse due volte
Star Trek episode "The Immunity Syndrome" (français): "Amoeba"
Keiserens nye klaer (português, nihongo): O Rei vai nu, Hadaka no Oosama (裸の王様)
