PEASE PORRIDGE HOT

This nursery rhyme sounds like something either Seuss or Carroll could have written:

Pease porridge hot,
Pease porridge cold,
Pease porridge in the pot,
9 days old.
Some like it hot,
Some like it cold,
Some like it new,
Some like it old...

Compare Seuss's infamous catalogue of fish:
One fish,
two fish,
red fish,
blue fish.
Black fish,
blue fish,
old fish,
new fish...
In short, fish, or porridge, ad nauseam (pun intended: the Latin expression means literally "to make the reader/listener feel nauseous")!
