TRUE LYE

Yeah, this is another post with a lame pun in it.
Lye is a powerful alcali (no "alca-lye" pun intended!), known in Spanish as "sosa cáustica" (which can also mean "sarcastic tasteless"!). It is used for making soap: no lye, no soap. Because lye kills germs.
And if it kills germs, what can it do to a live animal, a person for instance?
Pure lye, when consumed, has a strongly bitter taste. Perchance the last thing you'll ever taste in your life, since it corrodes all soft tissues that it touches as it courses down your gullet (you don't even have time to cross yourself), it glides behind your heart, and your heart collapses (if you have consumed enough pure lye, that is!)
If you encounter someone who has consumed pure lye, call 112 ASAP! Don't feed the victim or let him/her throw up!
If you are worried because you have swallowed soap, do not fret! Pure lye is lethal indeed, but a single sip of soap is actually harmless!
