OTHELLO - NEW DERMARK POSTER

My new poster/Shakespearean image stressing the themes of identity and otherness.

The 8-ball is not only Othello; it can be any other character of the main seven, given that all of them are outsiders in one sense or another.

MY OWN OTHELLO LOGO

A scarlet background, which obviously stands for fire and blood and passion.

A black male symbol (sword and shield) and a female white symbol (hand mirror) on either end, in fearful assymetry. Love and War, the sphere of ladies and that of men, depicted as not so different yet contrasting with one another.

A dagger, the symbol of Saturn (calamity), and a number three stand in between, representing the tragic fate that awaits this unlikely star-crossed couple...

My own simple logo for one of the greatest works in world literature and Verdian opera.
